ABOUT GARY

A former Sergeant in the U.S. Army Infantry, Gary has 20,000-plus hours of training and coaching experience. Upon leaving the military and entering the performance and fitness field, Gary worked alongside and was mentored by top orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, former NFL strength coaches, and top experts in the fitness world. He specializes in post-rehabilitation, functional fitness, and golf and tennis performance.

ABOUT DAVID

David graduated top of his class in Nutrition Science from NC State. After undergrad, he specialized in outpatient sports rehab before making a transition into the fitness industry in 2017. David is our in-house nutritionist & specializes is post rehabilitation, rotational sports performance & general population functional fitness. David is also the host of The Fit Method Podcast covering topics in nutrition, training, recovery, mindset & faith.

ABOUT TJ Mentus

TJ has been a personal trainer and coach since 2015. In that time he has help many people reach a variety of fitness goals. He believes that maintaining a structured fitness routine is crucial in living a high quality life for the long term. His sessions focus on teaching efficient movement patterns and building functional strength as a way to remove and prevent physical limitations from hindering one’s way of life. He enjoys working with people with competitive or performance based goals, kids and young adults, and post rehabilitation clients. For fun he competes in local CrossFit competitions and weightlifting meets and as a way to improve his own fitness and performance.

ABOUT JOSH

Josh Livelsberger is a certified personal trainer with 9 years of experience, specializing in helping individuals achieve their health and fitness goals through customized training plans, expert guidance, and unwavering support. He holds ATG Level 2 and Physique and Figure Training certifications and has completed specialized training in functional fitness, injury prevention, mobility training, and strength and conditioning. His training philosophy emphasizes building strength from the ground up, focusing on functional, pain-free movement, and helping clients unlock their full potential physically and mentally.

Josh’s journey in fitness began in high school when he aspired to become the starting quarterback for his Pennsylvania high school football team. A few years later, he was working toward earning a spot on his Division II college team. This journey ignited his passion for helping others achieve their goals, and he has personally found success and fulfillment in these areas.

Since then, Josh has worked with hundreds of clients, ranging from preteen athletes to senior-aged beginners. He has guided them to improve performance, lose weight, recover from injuries, and build lifelong healthy habits. Through his programs, Josh educates clients on what they are doing and why it is necessary. He empowers them to feel better, move intentionally, and live healthier, more fulfilled lives. Whether someone is just starting their fitness journey or striving to reach the next level, Josh dedicates his time to helping his clients unlock their potential and transform their lives.

ABOUT ALEX

Alex graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelors in Exercise Science in May of 2023, and is now pursuing his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Wingate University. Since acquiring his CSCS, he has trained athletes of all levels across multiple disciplines. He finds his niche implementing a hybrid of both strength training and functional movement knowledge to help prevent injury while reaching strength and performance goals. Rotational sports and speed/jump training are his primary strong-suits, but Alex has also found a particular passion for training young athletes looking to create a strong base for future training and competition.

ABOUT ASA HASKINS

Asa Haskins is graduate of Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He earned a bachelors degree in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice. As an athlete Asa was a member of the Claflin University’s baseball and basketball team. Asa has over a decade of experience in adolescent counseling that assisted in his maturation of becoming a Strength and Conditioning Coach. Physical fitness has always been important which allowed for a natural transition into a career in personal training. With over ten years experience in Strength and Conditioning training and a certification through National Academy of Sports Medicine ( NASM). Asa has worked with countless athletes who have participated in basketball, football, baseball, track and field, soccer as well as assisted in the mental approach of building an athlete’s confidence.

Coach Jon Reed

Jon Reed is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer with specialties in helping everyday people build muscle, lose fat, and move better. Fitness has always been a major part of his life—growing up, he was constantly active and competitive in sports. However, his passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals didn’t fully ignite until later in life.

 

Before stepping into the world of personal training, Jon was a professional musician, with tours expanding nationwide. When the world took an unexpected turn, he embraced the opportunity to channel his drive and dedication into a new passion—helping others transform their bodies and build confidence through strength and movement.

 

Now, he works with clients of all backgrounds, focusing on functional strength, mobility, and sustainable progress. Whether it’s building lean muscle, shedding unwanted fat, or simply moving and feeling better, Coach Reed brings an energetic and personalized approach to every session. His goal? To empower clients with the tools, knowledge, and discipline they need to take control of their health and unleash their capabilities.

ABOUT Zach Covington

A native of Indian Trail, NC, Zach realized his passion for healthy living while studying at Appalachian State University, before graduating in 2021 with a B.S. in Health and Physical Education. 

 

Zach’s coaching style is grounded in developing intrinsic motivation through purpose-driven action– Zach wants to know you. Ultimately, he believes every person holds within them the power to take control of their well-being, and his role is to guide his clients to discover theirs. 

 

In 4+ years of teaching and coaching, Zach has worked with people at all levels of confidence and development. The primary thing he finds in common across all demographics is this: Those who commit to the process rather than the outcome don’t just achieve more, but maintain their success over time.

Coach Andy

ABOUT andy

Coach Andy has been involved in personal training for 17 years, working with clients from ages 12-80, and working through everything from Achilles tendon ruptures, to disc herniations, to myotonic muscular dystrophy. Coach Andy’s most fulfilling times of his career have come from helping average people achieve above average results like more muscle tone, less body fat, improved flexibility, increased energy, and better health. Notable results include: client with 100lb weight loss in 12 months, client with 4 state powerlifting records, and multiple orthopedic post-rehab return to life/sport success stories. Coach Andy is proud to work around a great team of Coaches at FitMethod, where clients can get results and enjoy their experience.

Coach Caleb

ABOUT Caleb

Specialties: Conscious Movement, Mobility, Injury Prevention & Prehab, Functional Strength Training

Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, Caleb grew up in a hard-working, single-parent household as the middle child between two sisters. Shaped by adversity and a strong sense of responsibility, he found early outlets in football and training — where discipline and physicality became foundational to his personal growth.

​

After his football career ended, Caleb turned to bodybuilding and strength training as a personal passion. That passion evolved into purpose when he realized he could make a real impact by helping others build strength and confidence through fitness.

​

He launched his professional training career at Equinox before becoming one of the top-performing coaches at David Barton Gym. Over the last 17+ years, Caleb has earned multiple certifications and developed a strong reputation for his deep understanding of physiology, movement quality, and injury prevention.

Now based in Charlotte with his wife, two sons, and two dogs, Caleb brings a seasoned, intentional approach to coaching — specializing in mobility, conscious movement, and functional strength for longevity and performance.
